Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez has been an Cuban and American television arbitrator since Caso Cerrado. Born in Havana Cuba Ana moved to Miami when she was just 2 years old and was accompanied by her family. In Habana, Cuba, Ana Maria Polo hosts of the well-known Telemundo show "Caso Cerrado" which is the first Spanish show to be nominated a Daytime Entertainment Emmy(r) Award. It was also it was named the most popular Spanish-language programming on the air at 4pm in key demos. Polo was born on the 11th, 1959, in Havana Cuba and graduated from Florida International University in Political Sciences. After that, she received her PhD in law from the University of Miami and practiced law for twenty years in the city of Miami. After earning her PhD at the University of Miami she practiced law in Miami for over 20 years. Polo was first introduced to viewers on television in 2001 on Telemundo's program Sala de Parejas (2001) as well as other court shows in which her legal expertise was tapped. Literature and Awards. In the year 1958, she wrote Los Hijos Muertos. This novel earned her the Critic's Prize and the Spanish National Prize for Literature. Ana Maria Matute moved to the United States from Spain in the year 1960. Polo, who is also diagnosed with breast cancer and patient who has survived the disease is often quoted about the cause she is fighting. She has been an advocate for LGBT rights all of her life. She is a 1987 graduate from law school at the University of Miami School of Law and a Florida Bar member.
